We are a group of individuals who love to teach, but are students first. Our shared passion for yoga, health and wellness comes from the heart, with community at the center of all we do. Our goal is simple: to make yoga fun and accessible to everyone. Each day we live with purpose and the belief that the singular and collective are one in the same.

Yogi, Father, Husband & Entrepreneur.  I was born and raised in Minnesota, just a regular meat and potatoes kid playing a variety of team and individual sports, many of which I still play today.  I've always enjoyed the competitive nature of sports, but today I find more joy in not so much competing against others, but to be one's own opponent.  That's the spirit of what we teach here; it is my belief that if you try hard at yoga and your other worldly pursuits you will enjoy life.

Alumni of the University of St. Thomas located on the banks of the Mississippi in St. Paul, MN.  There I enjoyed many care free days, making new friends, playing hockey, and earning a BA in International Financial Management and a minor in Japanese.  The 4th year of my studies took me to Osaka, Japan where I spent a year as a student attending the University of Osaka Gakuin.  What a profound and transformational experience this was.  My year abroad taught me many lessons, but one stands out above all others; step out of the box and follow your own path.

I have been practicing Yoga since 1996, teaching since 2003 and opened my first Southern California School in 2005.

RYT with yoga alliance. Trained with Ganga White at the White Lotus Foundation in 2008, Hot Yoga Teacher Training in 2003 as well as numerous workshops with Dharma Mittra, David Swenson, and Johnny Kest.  My greatest teacher comes from within, practice, practice, practice.

After graduating from Cal State Long Beach with a degree in dance, Sequanna found that yoga provided a way for her to integrate her love for the study of body movement and conditioning with a warm “nurturing” environment. She took to yoga naturally, when first introduced in her late teens by her godparents, but noticed that she was always cold in class, which made it difficult for her muscles to stretch. Sequanna misses dancing, but finds her yoga practice to be a way for her to use her body similar to dance without the injurious impact that dance had. She has been a regular practitioner at Purple Yoga Fullerton since they opened their doors in 2005, and completed a 200-hour teacher training at Yogaworks in NYC, in 2008.

She feels blessed to work in the company of the talented teaching staff of Purple Yoga. You can find Sequanna’s happy, smiling face at the front desk and “turning up the heat” while teaching the Red series!

With a major in Visual Communication from The School of The Art Institute of Chicago, Jennifer Vogt has always loved the mix of refined designs, wabi-sabi, texture, pattern, and color. After working as a graphic designer and art director in Chicago & New York City, she worked in both small and large design agencies. Some clients have included: Karim Rashid, Allure Magazine, Chronicle Books, and Vidal Sassoon. She grew up with an entrepreneurial father and a mother who taught yoga, astrology, and feng shui in their living room. It only seemed natural for Jennifer to involve her creative talents with a yoga studio.

While travelling in Costa Rica, Jennifer met her husband the director/founder Joe Vogt in 2002. When Joe shared his dream to create a yoga center they began to envision the Purple experience. By bringing her expertise as a creative director to Purple Yoga, she is helping to build a memorable yogic experience with grace and spirit at the center of it all. It has truly been a cross-discipline experience with everything from graphics to the interiors. For Jennifer, she considers everything she touches from the tactile to the virtual world.
