Thank you for your interest in Purple's Teacher Training Program. This program is a foundational 200 hour training, register with Yoga Alliance. The course offers an in-depth understanding of classical yoga and an exploration of Krisnamacharya, Pattabhi Jois and Iyengar. In this eight week program, you'll learn a non-dogmatic combination of classic and contemporary techniques derived from major hatha yoga systems. There is extensive instruction in Vinyasa flow yoga, with an emphasis on the fundamental and key elements of asana, pranayama and teaching skills.

8 week program, Dates:  Sept. 10th - Oct. 31st
Wednesday evenings, 6:30PM – 10:00PM
Saturday & Sunday afternoons, 11:00 – 7:00PM

Tuition & Registration

Program Tuition Includes
  • Up to 120 days unlimited classes at Purple Yoga centers
  • Course binder, and class materials
  • Certificate of completion

$2,250 if paid in full by; July 1st, 2010
$2,500 if paid after; July 1st, 2010
$100 non-refundable deposit required for registration.

Purple will provide scholarships to four people in exchange for 100 hours of work study for each training. The studio will pay for 50% of the cost. Deadline for scholarship applications is 4 weeks prior to program start date. For more information contact bonnie@purpleyogastudio.com

    Russ Pfeiffer

    Russ teaches anatomy for the Purple Yoga teacher training program and other yoga trainings throughout the Southwest. He has also taught anatomy and movement at University of California Irvine and the Rolf Institute. Helectures regularly on the evolution of human movement for the Anthropology Department at LA City College.

    A yoga instructor since 1997, his method of teaching yoga is grounded in sound anatomical understanding of the body from his 14 years experience as a bodyworker and Rolfer. His yoga studies, mostly through the Iyengar system, have been comprehensive and diverse within a variety of styles. He has studied with numerous teachers including Richard Freeman, Dona Holleman, Shandor Remete, Rodney Yee, Manouso Manos and Lisa Walford. He informs his understanding of the human system through other movement modalities such as Tai Chi, Feldenkrais Method, Continuum Movememnt and Alexander Technique.
